The absurdly pretentious and over-ambitious winner of this year’s Cannes Festival is at least pretty to look at
A charming, unpretentious little movie from Mexico that gradually reveals to us hidden depths and a surprising emotional power
A very slow-moving, atmospheric appreciation of the 19th century outlaw — or at least of his celebrity, which it seems a shame his assassin did not inherit
A respectful period romance which, however, doesn’t give us as much of the period as it does of the romance
Though disappointing in the end, this is an engaging first feature based on a Raymond Carver story and offers a meaty role for Will Ferrell
